He had ghosted me, came back, I ghosted him, he came back and now he's ghosting me?

I met this guy a few months back. He would text me everyday but was flakey when it came to going on dates. I saw him once and we discussed a second date which he ended up canceling the last minute. Due to this I stopped talking to him. A month later he contacted me asking me out again, I decided to give him a chance, went on the date, one thing led to another and we had sex. However, this time around, I stopped replying to him because I was confused about my feelings. Last week he messaged me asking me if everything was fine because he said he really liked me, asked if I was willing to continue, and said we could go on dates. I said yes, he continued conversation for a while, then he stopped replying? Did he just do this to get back at me? I'm confused.

I don't think I explained myself well in the question. The only reason I stopped replying was because he only wanted to take me to his apartment. when I suggested to go eat somewhere he would come up with an excuse not to hang out, therefore I thought he only wanted to fool around. However this time he texted me actually offering to go on dates with me so I actually responded because I thought he liked me but that's when he stopped replying. I don't know why he would text me to tell me he likes me if he was just going to ignore me
