Yes, if the chemistry is genuine (like they aren’t putting on a front by pretending to be someone they’re not) then it’s a great thing to have, since it’s chemistry that’s going to allow two people to keep the passion alive in their relationship.
That genuine desire and passion for each other is going to be very important for the long-haul of a long term relationship.
However, as great as passion is, it’s not everything.
Other things needed for long-lasting relationships include things like loyalty, great communication, emotional maturity, healthy conflict resolution, shared values, etc.
Ah, here’s a really important one too: shared expectations and relationship goals.
"significantly influence the potential for a long-lasting relationship?"
I'd say no...
Chemistry in a relationship is like what breathing is to life.
It's needed but it isn't what causes success.
Same with goals you can love your goal but if you don't understand goal achievement... You lose. Most of the time. Real goals, not things you know you can do.
I hit it off pretty well on a first date. Didn’t do anything and we both were having fun and laughing. He didn’t contact me again. But we still have each other on Snapchat but starting off friends is probably a good thing as you can see how it goes. Sometimes if you put date many guys run the other way!
First date? Significantly? Not necessarily… first dates are first impressions and is the time to give your best foot forward but for how long the charade is going to continue for a long lasting relationship in the future? Only time will tell. Definitely not the first date.

Generally, the first date has to go perfect, since well, you'd want the "dates" to continue, right? If you don't make a good impression, they may not want another. However, remember, that doesn't mean come off as fake, either, noone likes a liar
If you hit it off really well on the first date it could be an indication that you were meant for each other. I wouldn't rush anything though. They could just be putting on a show for you.
Nah I do think it’ll bond you two more and that future partners of either of you may become uncomfortable with the friends ship you’ll have
It certainly helps a lot.
it could, but it's not an absolution
Definitely
Yeah if you hook up
