I‘ve noticed that quite a lot of guys do this. They look at these different pictures multiple times ever day, although the models will never know that they even exist. Doesn‘t that lead to the men sexualizing women in general more or is it harmless? Are they even going to find women in real life as attractive?
I am going to take a bit of a detour after a brief answer to your question so be patient.
Dudes are only aroused visually. Evolution dictates it. As anyone that has ever felt aroused knows, it feels good. There is nothing wrong with that.
When men become stressed throughout their day, maybe even depressed or do a physically exhausting job 8 to 10 hours a day; all we want to do is feel pleasure.
Hence whore houses. Think about why that happens to be the oldest profession.
Back before the Industrial Revolution, physical labor was the only way to get large, laborious job done. Or long hours spent hunting for food. Physical Stress.
Then you had the men that didn’t do any physical work, but had the laborious job of making sure that those he was in charge of did their jobs. Mental Stress.
With women, when they are stressed or overworked themselves, the last thing they want is sex. They are unable to be aroused visually. There arousal takes time to build and they must be relaxed and not worried with their job, the kids, or an irresponsible man child of a beta husband.
Women need a clear head, to be relaxed and a lot of foreplay to get that arousal going. Unlike us men, a visual aid and just enough strokes and we’re done; leaving a woman going, what about me. If women can’t enjoy long enough pleasurable sex, then why do except for his benefit.

Men following hot woman is normal in moderation. I personally think most men who follow many models who post themselves mostly naked all the time are usually at least thinking about having sex with other woman.
For some, I think they feel like it's their release, for most I think it just makes them want to cheat more.
Personally, I don't follow models on social media, I don't keep up with porn stars. Are there a few friends on my social media who most of what I do when I see their posts is slightly Google at them? For sure lol but I know good women do that too.
I think men also have the excuse that woman are just objectively nice to look at. Kinda like a car.
They don’t have to follow these women out in the open. Of course they’re going to find women attractive, it’s not about that. I find following loads of naked women on ig tacky, idc. Lucky my man agrees. If it bothers you find a like-minded man.
Those type of men have no sexual discipline. Never worth having a relationship with them if they are to busy worshipping edited/fake pics of women online when they should be focused on real women.

It's normal for men to find any half naked attractive, even in real life. Back in the day it was Playboy, today it's social media "models." It's neither good or bad. And the women who are half naked don't mind being sexualized - they want to be.
And at the end of the day would you rather men look at half naked women? Or half naked men?

I would say it´s harmless to a certain point. Some guys do that ease down their feeling of being horny others do that because they gave up dating. I think it could become a danger if guys start to mix pics (especially porn) and real life.
Just looking at pics I´d consider less a problem than if he tries to do forms of sex he has seen in some porn video.
It's normal. Guys are programmed by nature to be sexually attracted to womens' bodies. So if they have an opportunity to look, they look. It's instinct.
If the women didn't want to be sexualized, they shouldn't be posting the half naked pictures on the Internet in the first place. It's normal but futile because as you've mentioned those models dont even know that the men exist. Most men are invisible to most women. It's the men who are not following these models, who are on their path and purpose that are going to do well in life and be attractive to these models.
