Why does my best friend tell me my boyfriend is "out of my league"?

I started dating this guy, he's pretty good looking but it was his personality that attracted me the most. He's really sweet and kind, and spiritual. We also have a lot in common. My best friend said (not in a horrible way) that how did I get a guy like that and she's surprised but so impressed because he's so good looking. And she said he's out of my league.

I'm confused by her comment. I'm considered cute/pretty too. She has a boyfriend by the way so it's not like she's jealous or "the single one". Why did she feel the need to tell me that?

And that's your friend? Good grief. See, that's why I don't have many female friends: y'all don't want to admit it, but females can be so catty, messy, envious, and compete with each other to the point it's pathetic!

Don't even listen to her. Look, if your boyfriend likes you, that's all that matters. You need to tell her to be more supportive of your friendship, or find another friend that does support you and your relationships.

For starters tell your best friend no one is out of your league & secondly you best friend might be jealous & secretly want your boyfriend.

Yes, it can be jealousy. Some women are competitive and she may be jealous that your boyfriend is more attractive than her boyfriend.
