Yes, I do, but it depends on the situation. I'd be happy to take a woman on a date that included a sightseeing helicopter flight over the city and then a nice dinner. In my situation the cost of those simply doesn't matter. It would be fun and seeing how she enjoyed / reacted to the excitement of flying would tell me something.

For someone else, a ~$1000 first date might be a huge financial commitment.

If she was uncomfortable with the idea of my spending a lot, I'd also be happy to just go on a nice walk in a nearby park, and get lunch or dinner somewhere I know that is good but not fancy / expensive.

I'm quoting local AUD not USD, so it's $34USD if that makes a difference. I get an overnight stay and the next morning for that for that. So it is a reasonable deal from my view. The cafe is the lure that makes it work so can't minimize that. Drinks at home before the cafe and drinks at home after the cafe. Works for me.
