The amount of money a person should spend on a first date is subjective and can vary depending on individual circumstances, preferences, and cultural norms. It's not appropriate to make assumptions about someone's intentions or character solely based on the amount of money they spend on a date.
Rather than focusing on the specific amount spent, it's more important to consider the effort, thoughtfulness, and overall experience created during the date. A successful first date is often about establishing a connection, getting to know each other, and enjoying each other's company, regardless of the cost.
It's also worth noting that expectations around dating expenses are changing, and many people now prefer to split the bill or engage in more casual and low-cost date activities. Open communication and mutual understanding of each other's expectations regarding finances and dating can help avoid misunderstandings or uncomfortable situations.
Ultimately, the emphasis should be on building a genuine connection and having a meaningful experience rather than making assumptions based on spending habits.

A first date I like to keep cheap and low-key so we can get to know each other. A 4 figure dinner rarely does that. A picnic in the park or a sit-down in a corner of a coffee shop does. Plus that way there's less of a chance that she'll be there only for my money.
Anything more than what you’re willing to spend.
Don’t let anyone manipulate or guilt you into spending more money than what you’re comfortable with. That will give off desperate vibes and let the person know they can use you.
I agree with the over $100. One first date ended in $120 and I offered to split because I didn’t want to come off as a woman that needs a boujee date from a man and that wasn’t the intent.

Money shouldn't be relevant. If the person paying is wealthy, and spending money lets you do something fun, then that's fine. Just as long as they are not showing off their money.
$50 is more my target including drinks My half of it is still part of the total date cost so under $100 in that case. Two mains would be $50 where i am.
Any time I go out to dinner with a woman, my goal is always to spend as much money on her as possible, and I know I won't be getting any pussy, either... lol
A man can never spend too much money on me.. lol but he def ain't getting laid first date so he should keep that in mind.
I'm a cheap date (😂) and I hate people spending money on me. Anything over $100 is too much in my eyes.
It’s not hard to spend 100 each on a night out here. Between getting there, dinner, drinks $150-200 isn’t even getting super fancy these days but that’s about my limit
Lovely update! Anyway, my best dates were always free. A nice walk and talk works out way better than eating in front of each other when you pretty much just met each other. Don't even get me started on movies!
If you're spending more money than what you could spend at Wendy's reasonably, you're doing something wrong.
Get her a four for four.
