Why do some people who are in relationships show interest in others?

What’s the reason?

a girl i dont know well flirted with me (touching) and never mentioned her boyfriend.

to be sure about what kind of person she is i asked another guy about her. He said she has a boyfriend, but he is a “casual” boyfriend. Not serious.

A few reasons may be because they are chronically discontent or unable to be satisfied with just one person, they are unhappy in their relationship and feel that they have found something better, they are lonely, they experience a lack of affection, they want revenge on their SO, they are selfish, and/or they are inconsiderate and unconcerned with how their actions affect other people.

Whatever the reason may be, they are never justified in their actions.

But why not break up? Why try to cheat? I dont understand

That would be the 'selfish and inconsiderate' reasons.

They want what they want when they want it, and they will act impulsively to get it, but they also don't want to be held accountable for those actions.

For the record, I don't understand how people do it either, but a lot of people are just selfish and too cowardly to face consequences.

That's why they say, "once a cheater, always a cheater," because it's a certain type of person who behaves this way.

That should say a lot to you about the type of girl that she is, and you should consider that when you are determining whether or not you want to pursue anything with her.
