What makes people think male gold diggers don’t exist?

There is men who use women for money. Many times their with a woman whose just trying to make ends meet and using her for cash. Living with her and playing the victim like he just can’t get or keep a job.

There is guys who have married only fans girls. Hell I have people in my own family who married women for money. Now I don’t think their relationships are happy. But that’s another story

This has existed for a LONG time. Uneducated people - like Anonymous 45 Plus - don't understand simple history.

Half or more of ALL of European upper class / aristocracy - or among families that were educated, successful, etc (essentially anyone who wasn't a farmer) - in history only existed due to men of lesser families marrying into wealthy families. Even among traders & merchant families this happened. And until the last 100 years some areas of Europe - such as Italy, Russia, Bulgeria, and probably 20 or so odd countries - this practice was VERY common.

A 2nd or 3rd daughter of a lord or even a king's family was very often married off to the lesser man (a duke or a lordling or even a knight). A merchant may marry off his 2nd daughter to one of his employees who did well.. All of them was a gold digger.

These women typically were educated, etc. and thus by default had more value anyway

Now on the reverse it was never common among paupers - the peasants and riftraft of society.

Just as how it's not common to have wealthy successful women among the lower ranks of society - they're typically bottom rung jobs that'll eventually be replaced or have been replaced already by automated AI services or just housewives.

Male gold diggers definitely exist. Its just that some people enjoy overblowing or overexaggerating female gold diggers. I have met plenty of male gold diggers throughout my lifetime myself. Mysognists and chauvinists love lying to you cuz it makes them feel like men have an advantage

They do but they are called gigolos or pimps. On societal rankings they are a good way lower than gold diggers. At least with gold diggers there is the implication of some beauty and charm which society values.

What do you mean by gold digger anyway? If you mean women who are disinclined to partner with a man who can't/won't get a job then I would disagree. Just as we look for qualities in a woman we are willing to partner with quite obviously women do the same. It is reasonable for a woman to look for a man who is making something of his life and that is likely reflected in his income. The reverse is like us choosing a woman who only watches TV and only works at becoming morbidly obese.

If you mean a woman who manipulates a man into marriage and giving her a couple of children with the intent of divorcing him in 8 years and inventing stories of abuse and pedophilia to maximize her share of the assets then I would agree.

Your gigolo/pimp can't even dream of digging to those levels. So in that sense they don't and can't exist.

I think there are lots of male gold diggers but not as many women are to men, I think many situations are more based on scamming, when I think of gold digging I think of it as being in a relationship with someone due to the amount of money they (like the example you gave of the guy and the OF girl). Overall I think the reason we dont think male versions exist is because more women with money are likely to date someone that makes as much as them or if not more. So it is still rare in comparison. but agree do exist.

Probably because historically speaking they've almost been non existent. Women didn't work in the past the only way a man could do something like this is marry into a woman's family money. And that was unusual since the goal was to marry a well to do MALE heir. Women would have been seriously put off by a penniless guy.

It wasn't till the last 50 years. That this could have even been a thing really. And yes of course it exists now. Because women have the power to make all the poor decisions she wants to now.😆😆😆

I guess it comes from the idea gender roles. Typically men are seen as hard working bread winners or at least that's what's expected of them. no one would expect a man to seek out a woman or marriage as financial support. Now I admit we have moved passed tradition gender roles, it evident in the fact that more women are joining the workforce or finding new ways to make money. Even though most people don't fit all of the stereo type for their gender. everyone still expects men to act one way.

It's just less common in the historic lens and thereby modern thought process. In the west, women, especially upper class women were basically expected to marry for money or status. Men could sort of do with, but inheritances and therefore long term financial resources tended to run through the male line. While this is no longer a common expectation, we're still in the process of removing it from common thought.

Because it's a statistically insignificant number of men that actually pull that off. There's so many attraction triggers required for a man that it's nearly impossible to maintain a women w/out meeting the most basic financial ones. The only way it could even work if it was a young attractive gut that settled for a financially stable divorced Cougar. i think because historically men were the "bread winners". they owned the land. generally women's access to money was only via a husband (whether the husbands own or a women's family inheritance)

so i think those old constructs still inform many people's minds. of course it's not true. there are certainly men who marry for money, access, power, etc
