Would you be annoyed if someone said they were ‘almost certain’ they wanted to see you?

Probably just due on my period and being pedantic for no reason. Recently been in my head feeling like my relationship (of 6 months) is feeling slightly one sided when it comes to wanting to see each other.

I was meant to have plans with friends tonight but can’t make it due to travel, so mentioned to him that if he’d like to see me then I’m down to do something, but he could just let me know today. His response was that he’s ‘almost certain’ he wants to see me. My last relationship was very much with someone who’d want to see me all the time and I felt more of a strong sexual chemistry towards, as in if there was ever a chance of seeing each other it was non-negotiable - it was always the best option. Here, he often drives me straight home after dates, I often initiate things and so when he’s ‘almost certain’ he wants to see me I just feel like there’s some kind of hesitation.

I'd need more context about what he has going on to say for sure, but I don't think I'd be annoyed by that response, based on what you've told us here. "Almost certain" could just as easily mean "I'm super excited to see you" as "I'd love to see you, but there's other people I'd like to see as well."

If I had a really long day or a ton of work to do, for example, running over to my girlfriend's house might simply not be good from a practical standpoint. It could also be that my friend has some special thing going on that he wants me to go to.

Or, it could simply mean that he enjoys being around you, but knows that you aren't feeling the best at the moment.

Hmm... yeah who would say they're "almost certain"? Unless it is some kind tongue in cheek acknowledgement of an unlikely worst case scenario where seeing you could lead to a series of comically unfortunate events. However, I seriously doubt that is the case and this guy is wasting your time.

I don't know about you, but there's enough uncertainty in my life without a hesitant partner. I broke up with my last ex because she also had more uncertainty than love in her heart.
