2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. high probability that it is a big factor. many guys would love a chance with a younger woman and its known to be common but not visible in a common way, add to that the nature of current hookup culture and the prevalence of cheating and gold diggers, and a younger woman actually seeming interested comes across as a part of "seems too good to be true" hesitation often will come up.

Asker+1 yI actually like him for who he is though. He’s really sweet and humble.
Asker+1 yHe did ask me why I don’t date guys around my age.
16.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. It may be something else, but have you reassured him that his age isn't an issue?
Asker+1 yYeah I reassured him. Anyway I’m taking it personally cuz it seems like he just wants sex. I have rejected him in the past though so maybe I made him feel bad.
Asker+1 yHe’s kind of a loner. I have never seen him with a girlfriend or anything. He might be autistic, I am too.

+1 yProbably. He's probably waking up of you'll have the same life goals as you may well be in different stages of life. E. g. Do you want kids? It's highly likely he dosent
02 Reply
Asker+1 yI want to have kids for sure.
- +1 y
Given it probably wouldn't be a good idea not to consider kids for a couple of years, make sure a relationship is solid, he'd be nearly 50 by time any child were born.
If you want a fling then see where it goes, but it maybe you won't be on same page on all things

+1 yThe age gap is probably part of it. The reality is that couples who have an age gap of that many years have an extra hurdle to overcome in terms of their life experiences and communication.
04 Reply- +1 y
This is something you really need to be asking him.
Asker+1 yI think he’s just sexually attracted to me and probably likes me as a person, but he seems puzzled why I’d be interested given our age gap. And he’s worried he’s gonna be a “creepy old guy.”
- +1 y
Listen the pount is your generation of men are a bunch of mommas boys in order. In my experience guys your agebhad been more toxic.
- +1 y
All I can do is speak from my own personal experience. People my age (and it looks like "our" age, if your ages on this site are accurate), men and women, have been incredibly toxic to deal with. They've been toxic in general and especially romantically.
13.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. Yes. What do you mean by "hesitant?" Have you asked him out? What do you hope for in a relationship with him?
Asker+1 yHe doesn’t seem comfortable taking things forward with me. In the past I think I might have actually made him feel like he was creepy. Anyway he doesn’t really make plans but we flirt.
- 2.8K opinions shared on Dating topic.
+1 yit certainly could be the age gap that makes him hesitant. but you could just ask to find out

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI should think so. Any gap larger than 9 years and the long term success rate generally falls way off. While you have surface chemistry but time typically starts to show the divide.

Asker+1 yI like him as he seems like a nice guy. But I don’t think we’re super compatible romantically. Plus we’re both really quiet.
Opinion Owner+1 yWell then there should be no pressure to call what's between you ANYTHING. Just enjoy eachothers company and cross that bridge if and when it ever arrives.
Asker+1 yMakes sense. He seems really attracted to me - he flirts sexually over text but in person he’s awkward.

+1 yYeah probably you weirdo. Go date somebody closer to your age

- +1 y
Ok..
- +1 y
So you know a 46 year old is better than you. There more respectful.
- +1 y
Yeah I guess so
Men at that age are obsessed with girls in their 20s. He was sex from you.
Asker+1 yBut not a relationship. I don't know he’s literally always single. I don’t think he has ever been married or has kids.
- +1 y
Why? Are you jelous that a 46 year old is better then you?
+1 yIt’s either that or he’s married.
Asker+1 yHe’s definitely not married. He’s always alone like all the time. He lives in my apartment building.
- +1 y
It’s probably the age difference. You can probably just ask him.
Asker+1 yWell every time I have mentioned meeting up he kind of dodges it, and almost had me over once but it didn’t fall through. He only contacts me when he’s horny for the most part.
Asker+1 yOh, another thing, I told him I’m a virgin. I am. So maybe that’s also part of it 😂 shoot!
- +1 y
Meh. I don’t know if that’d be an issue though.
Asker+1 yCan’t figure it out then. He’s definitely attracted to me physically. Maybe he’s just immature or something then.
Asker+1 yI have rejected him in the past though. He just never really made plans.

@Alwayreckles93 people in general become wiser and learn from their past. If you want to know what a man is thinking you have to ask him. We can't tell you what someone else is thinking and we only know that there's an age gap. We don't know what your other interactions have been up until this point. Good luck.
- +1 y
Yeah but my pount is your generation has always been mature because back when you were a kid at that time people knew how to parent thier kid. Now a days guys my age are alla bunch of immature mommas boy.
- +1 y
@Alwayreckles93 I can tell you for sure that isn't true haha. Kids growing up in the 80s 90s made lots of bad decisions and did stupid things. We just got away with stuff easier because of tech not being our Nanny's.
What specifically makes a person a momma's boy in your opinion and what are you looking for that you're not finding?
- +1 y
Well me my age are very toxic. Its a shame how they're all living insidethere moms house. At age 30 that's ridiculous. I managed to be debt free with a paid off home mortgage and paid of car. Plus I know because I used to date men my age I even married one boy giys my age are way to spoiled. No back when you were inhigh school guys never goof of or clown around and they never laugh making fun of people.
- +1 y
@Alwayreckles93 You're speaking about a time you weren't there for. I'm telling you kids in highschool were mean, filled with bullies, many were using racial slurs left and right. I'd say it was ultimately clowning around and constantly picking on people and physical bullying. Getting assaulted in a school bus by older kids was normal for many a lot of people my age.
Not trying to argue with you because your experiences are your own but your painting a picture of people in my age group like we were all gentlemen and mature. That is not true at all. Immaturity is part of growing up for all generations. Some show it differently.
Wha - +1 y
Not trying to aurgue but you are making it seem like guys my age are saint. No they are horrible and toxic.
- +1 y
@Alwayreckles93 It's ok. Not taking it as an argument but I didn't say that at all. I spoke to the actual experience of growing up in my generation. We also had really nice people too but you seem to be generalizing for a generations experience to which you didn't witness. In reality, if you read back your replies to me, you're actually painting our generation as saints and generalized all men in your generation. Part of maturity is not generalizing.
I didn't even comment once on men in your generation. I never said they were saints or alluded it. - +1 y
At least men your generation are not womanizers. 30 year ols now a days are huge womanizers.
- +1 y
@Alwayreckles93 Wow. I'd like to stay nice but I don't think you should project perceptions of an entire generation for one that you didn't grow up in and two project all men in your age bracket. It's extremely immature. I'm sorry you see thing this way. Have a good day
