Went to eat for our 5yr anniversary. Girlfriend wore a sun dress, I wore jeans and a plain shirt. We went to Applebees because she likes the place. We also got each other gifts.
Any case, was I under dressed?

Applebees is a low key and casual restaurant so you aren’t obligated to wear elite and outstanding clothes there. If you go there in a suit and tie, you might get made fun of for taking Applebee's too seriously.

if she didn't care, neither should you althought if things like this bother you then I'd say out the effort for her somewhere else and do a but extra for her some other way so she still sees the effort
