My boyfriend accidentally mentioned engagement but now I’m nervous he’s not going to ask?

My boyfriend and I were joking around with each other about marriage (we weren’t talking about getting married) and he said “well maybe I was planning on asking you on our anniversary” and then said “idk why I just said that out loud because now I ruined it”. I asked him if he really meant that and he said of course but he’s mad at himself for opening his mouth. Now I’m worried he might get discouraged and not ask. I’m probably over thinking it but should I be worried about this?
