Should I have expected an apology from him?

Cut it off with him because he had my name in his phone under a completely different person and no I was not snooping. He sent me a screen shot last Thursday of something I said in the chat and sent it to me. Upon further inspection he had changed my name to a completely different name. I confronted him about it and instead of fessing up he made up a story about how when we first started talking he didn’t remember my name and some other crap and he never changed it because it made him laugh. I told him I didn’t believe him especially because it took him all day to come up with that story. He’s only reply was ‘’ I don’t give a **** what you think. Take my words or leave.

So I told him that he was wrong for what he did especially where it seems like he lives with someone. I had spent several hours thinking it over and assessing the situation and came to the conclusion that all of his last minuet work events and stomach bugs and working on sundays must have been a lie. I told him that this whole situation was a mistake and that we should never talk again I didn’t block him to give him a chance to apologize and be a man but he didn’t say anything. Today he sent a gif that basically said f u. For some reason I thought maybe he would make things right and do something but no, this is what he’s resorted to. I’m going to block him but before I do should I say anything at all?
