Guys, Should I consider dating a guy who rejected me 3 years ago?

A guy from college I’ve spoken to once rejected me 3 years ago. Now he seems interested in me for some reason and talks about me to his friends. I don’t look better than before, I even gained a few pounds. The only difference is that I don’t want him anymore. I’m afraid he only wants me because he misses the attention and wants easy access to sex. He seems like a genuinely nice guy but he is a man after all so I don’t know if I can trust him. Have you ever regretted rejecting a girl that was interested in you? If so, why and what made you reconsider?
