What is your restaurant of choice, for a date?

For a first date, I usually suggested Seasons 52.
Very nice but not over the top. Consistently good food, wide selection, and good service. Valet parking. Quiet enough to easily carry on a conversation. They also have a lounge so, if the date was going well, I would suggest that we adjourn to the lounge after dinner.
Now I am engaged and my Chinese fiancée loves seafood, so we have three different local seafood restaurants that we visit.
Il Porto Italian restaurant in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Outstanding!
First of all, as the name implies, the entire Old Town area has real atmosphere. 18th and 19th century architecture with all sorts of bars, restaurants and stores within walking distance. All of this on the Potomac River riverfront. There is just a real atmosphere to the area that is romantic and hard to beat.
Then as to Il Porto itself, the food is outstanding with top notch service. All of this in an 18th century atmosphere of wood and brick. I especially recommend the cozy little back room on the lower level. It provides candlelit tables and a degree of seclusion. The upstairs being better for large gatherings.
Highly recommend it!!
I personally dont like eating on dates. My fave foods are spaghetti, pizza, burgers, wings and other messy foods. I want to be able to “eat pretty” if on a date and i just can’t. Restaurant dates make me uncomfortable and would be a waste of money. Honestly, i’d rather we sneak under the table and makeout lmao. Forget eating 🤣
I would pick a spot with good ambience and not a place with amazing food, so maybe a pasta restaurant since they usually look beautiful but don’t charge too much money for their options.

It depends on what cuisine she likes. I prefer Asian cuisines, but a lot of women don't like their spicy nature, so we often end up at a Mediterranean or Italian restaurant, and I have one excellent one of each to go to.
A nice not-too-fancy restaurant, not too crowded, with good food and fairly quiet, so we van enjoy the food, each other, and get to know each other.
This one for me depends on if you mean a first date or a date with a partner?
I like something open with views for a first date. Could be on the water or looking over a public space... things to see. This has nothing to do with the woman... it helps me feel more comfortable in that moment.
On a date with a partner, give me something intimate, closed booth, etc... just the two of us connecting with each other. With a partner, there will be plenty of dates at fun and outgoing places, but my ideal will always be intimate!
Authentic - most certainly not Americanized. As in the cook, at the least, has to be from the country otherwise it's a waste of time and money.
Italian - a few years ago went to an American Italian resturant, tasteless garbage
Greek - my last date with from Greece staff & owner, food was absolutely delicious
British
Turkish
Middle Eastern
Indian
Arabic
@Staximus Wouldn't eaten American unless starving.
@Staximus No it's not. British food is much better.
American food is by and large bland and tasteless, it's why contiments like ketchup, mustard, etc. are so heavily used.
@Staximus But I will play along. "you just have to actually know what to eat " - so what should a person eat then?
You must be completely ignorant about food. British food is by far the most bland and tasteless. My dad used to live with an English couple and they would always complain about the food any time he used any kind of seasonings whatever besides salt. My grandma was from Belfast and the only seasonings she ever used was salt and pepper.
@Staximus ROFL. Obviously your father's an ignorant American that wouldn't know what to eat in the UK if starving. As for the rest, uneducated and lies.
I've never been on a date. However if my date took me to an Italian or a Greek restaurant, I would appreciate it.
As long as it's clean, safe and there's a good customer service I'm happy. 😊
It does not matter. The person you like is there too
I will eat anywhere as long as it not a fast food joint.
Their choice.
Whatever place makes them comfortable and/or has food they like.
There is a particular restaurant in Malibu on the cliffs overlooking the ocean and the waves that I am quite partial to. It's a great place for a date as it sort of romantic and very quiet and has wonderful food.
I’ll admit, I do enjoy watching a girl eat spaghetti.
*slurps* 🤣
Some place not too loud. I like this little hole in the wall Thai food place. It's not very impressive looking inside but they have the best Thai food in town, and there's about 20 Thai food restaurants in the area
I haven't been to eat at a restaurant for a long time
Something family owned with a nice atmosphere, great food, and not overpriced.
A quiet one without background music and enough distance to the other tables.
Somewhere nice that I like. I would expect to spend something between $100 and $200.
Something with a variety of food choices and some distractions to take away any pressure. A dinner theater for example.
Thai. Japanese. Middle Eastern.
All great choices and definitely not boring.
Whatever says 40 mins on DoorDash. That’s my quickest quicky. Then we eat.
Anything that my partner and I decide to be in the mood for really, but we both have to agree on it.
Well lit, plenty of people around, relaxed and sociable.
