Best type of restaurant for a first dinner date?

A nice, upscale restaurant had many advantages for me when I was dating.
1. No worries about whether we will have good service and a nice meal. (I almost always went to Seasons 52 for a first date, and it never disappointed.)
2. It challenges my date to make an effort to look her best. Did she rise to the challenge?
3. I get to see how well mannered she is.
4. Does she wait to see what I order and then order something in the same price range, or does she go for the top dollar menu selection? That's valuable information.
5. It is quiet and allows for pleasant conversation.
6. If the date goes well, I can suggest that we move to the restaurant lounge for an after dinner drink.
7. I feel confortable because I am familiar with the restaurant.
8. No need to worry about bar fights breaking out!
9. I don't worry about whether I did enough to make a good first impression.
10. After dinner, we can share a dessert - if she is comfortable with doing that on a first date (and many women were) - and that adds a little dose of intimacy to the meal.
Second date might be going to the beach, or the zoo, or a concert.
Thanks for MHO!
The are a few cafes that have a latin band and a dance floor. I like partner dancing and it doesn't matter if she hasn't cause I'm a strong lead.
It is good to have an activity in a first date that you collectively succeed in and dancing establishes physical contact.

I say fast casual place. Maybe a sports bar.
@OtterMan68 Yes eat local.
Local restaurants are not a big deal here in Florida. I actually like Buffalo wild wings a lot better than the local hamburger Small little bar packed in with people. It’s a huge restaurant Buffalo wild wings with a lot of big screens everywhere and I
like the chicken wings and the sauce I order all drum sticks and I also get blue cheese. Some of the waiters have been really nice to me. They don’t charge me for certain items. I’ve gotten free Soads and actually I got couple free piña coladas I just tipped them more.
@Iron_Man too late. The NFL changed their policy is because a lot of people tuned out and their ratings plummeted.
They are dead to me. Besides, football is a sissy sport with all the pads and equipment. RUGBY is a ma s sport. It has all the violence of football and none of the pads. There are no substitutions either. If somebody gets hurt the team plays a man short.
ratings plummeted? Other thant the covid year, the rating went up
I'm talking nationally
P. F. Chang’s, Olive Garden places like that upbeat festive places
I like something romantic - its NYC and still nice out. So yes for picnics, but a a nice small mom and pop place is ok too
