Do you date people that are different from you or the same appearance wise?

Examples: I have lighter skin, light brown/hazel eyes, naturally light brown/dirty blonde hair, short, small frame and my boyfriend is Spanish, tan skin, dark brown eyes, dark brown hair, tall with a wide frame. Personality wise, we relate a lot but not completely the same.

Another example: My mom, who is east-European has a light skin colour, light blonde hair, blue eyes, short with also a small frame and she's married to my dad who has black hair, brown eyes, not that tall but still taller than her and has some English roots (I did a dna test and it said I was 44,7% east-European and 32,7% English so that's a lot of English tbh)

And my sister is also dating someone who looks like he could be from Spain or another warm country but he isn't as far as we know.

I know there are people who date people that could practically be their sibling but I don't know what makes us choose someone so different from us or almost the same appearance wise?

Usually someone similar to me. I'm pale, mixed ancestry on both sides and even further back very mixed. When I say mixed, different "white ethnicities" not different 'skin races' as such.
In other words, no black or brown or Asian, or mixtures in that sense. Just a lot of UK, Australian, European, mixes.
Anyways. I usually prefer a local born and raised woman, here, Australia. I'd prefer them to be pale like me, similar personality as me, and just a submissive version for relationship purposes, like any man would say about a woman. Lol 😂😆 desirable relationship qualities to balance the relationship. Two to Tango, however, there's also the need for someone to have pants 👖

Very cool. As you can see, I'm very white. I'm not as white as "extreme white people" though I'm pale, not "very pale" though pale. Sun is not my friend. On the plus side, I like pale women, brunette (medium brown hair 🟤, think dark brown eyes 🟤🖤 bordering on brown or black eyes, big eyes 👀 without needing contacts or glasses. And they'd ideally be slim (like me), short slimmish arms, decent slim legs for a short woman, and basically under 5feet4 or much less shorter. And finally, if I could ask for a perfect world, natural E cups (larger than DD, smaller than F's). Wishful thinking. Still, a man can dream. I tend to be into people who look nothing like me when it comes to bone structure, skin tone, & ethnicity. But I do tend to be into people who are like me with certain features For instance if they have downturned medial canthal tilt, nice thicker eyebrows, non thin lips, darker hair, etc.

My main type is definitely the same in terms of skintone and hair color, but for the last 5 years, I have dated guys who are lighter/darker, different race/ethnicities, and of course taller than me (although back in school I didn't mind the guy being shorter). My eyes are dark brown but I have a thing for men with green eyes although the majority of my men I ended up with had dark brown, light brown or blue eyes. The dude I’m with is white/tan, blue eyes, dirty blonde, and a bit taller. Not normally what I prefer but I’m also not new to dating men outside of my main preference.
