Why doesn't my mom agree with me marrying a girl who has a child? Can I convince him?

I want to date and marry this lady if possible, but she has a son which i don't find a problem but what if my entire family do not like the idea and they have issues with me o the point where the lady can't feel at home?

Your mom doesn’t want you to do a lot of things I am sure but what she wants is not what you have to do. Instead of her saying no to it she should be asking you relevant questions. You are a grown adult and decisions are in your hands
