How do I move things forward?

So basically I've been attracted to this guy. We haven't had a conversation in person but we have recently started to text. I just blurted out that I like him after a few text exchanges. He reacted neutrally or rather graciously to it. But yeah, we are having work related conversations off late. Should I approach him or take it slow? What should my next step be? He knows that I'm interested in him but I really don't know what to do about it.

Take it slower than slow. Actually stop until you know for sure that he is not in a relationship and that by texting him, you are not potentially jeopardizing his relationship or even his marriage.

People are very quick to make conclusions and you would not want to be seen as a potential homewrecker.

Since you confessed by text, this text is probably still available to whoever has access to his texts. If it happens to be his girlfriend, spouse or S/O, he may have some explaining to do.

Keep your fingers off until you know for sure that there is no danger of jeopardizing a relationship.

Take it slow.

Saying "I love you" first, for example, used to be a massive red flag.

Just be cool, and don't bring it up again until you're more sure he likes you.

He knows you're interest, so just aim for the friend zone (no sex for the first couple of months, 50/50 on "dates" or hangouts.) And you'll over shoot and hit the relationship zone eventually.

If you ever land in the friend zone (he starts a relationship with someone else), move on. When he asks why you stopped talking, tell him; he started dating someone, and he was told in the beginning that your goal was to date him, so now it's time to stop wasting your time and move on.

Take control over the situation.
If you keep being indecisive about it along come some little trolup with her boobs exposed and steals him away from you.
It is possible he isn't available or interested which happens, being rejected is part of life. At least that way you know which is better than always wondering what if.

How do you know you like him if you have never met? You are just referring to physical attraction?

I understand what that's like. I feel like when you are talking to someone virtually, the connection feels stronger than what it's like in real life because the sense of body language and interpretation are not present. In reality, your mind probably thinks that you and him are closer than you actually think, so I think it would be better to take it slow for now. You don't want to ruin anything before it begins. Just let the chips fall where they may.
