Girls, do you ever invite a guy back to your place?

I would say it's roughly about 10% of the time a girl will invite me back to her place as opposed to suggesting my place.

Some reasons she may want to go to her own place:

1. She feels safer there, more comfortable than in a new/strange environment/neighborhood.

2. She doesn't want to have to make the trip home after sex, it's easier to just stay where she is.

3. More control of the situation, she just asks me to leave when/if she wants. Also, she may have a flatmate or other person living with her that adds to her comfort/sense of safety (see #1)

Some reasons she may prefer to go to my place:

1. She has flatmates and doesn't want to have them know, "reputation" reasons. Or lives with her family or some other situation where she's not comfortable having sex at home.

2. Her place is messy or there is some other reason she's embarrassed about it (small, bad neighborhood, &c.).

3. She wants to learn more about me, see what kind of household I am running and my sense of style, cleanliness, &c.

4. She doesn't want me to know her address, just in case I am one of "those gets attached and then stalks or otherwise makes issues" guys.

There's lots more motivations/rationales, but these are a few. But in my experience, a girl is more likely to come home with the guy than to take the guy home.

I've also walked girls to their door after a date and been invited inside.

I always felt more comfortable and had more control doing things if we went back to my place. One time I took this guy back to my place and I made us a nice steak dinner at 1:00 in the morning. Of course I wouldn't have him over now. It's too scarey!

But if we went to his place I would feel really uncomfortable. Nah!

This is my approach to dating as well. I still don’t understand how people can just find a stranger and go out and stuff. I rather get to know them naturally and if we both click I’d ask them out.

I will only date someone I know or if they are a friend of someone I know and they vouch for them so at least I know I will be safe and I am told a little about them from my friend first so I don't really feel like they are a complete stranger.
