Guys, When a guy invites you in his personal space?

One of my male friends has been inviting me into his personal space, yet doesn't make a move. Like he will try to show me something, but rather than hand whatever it is to me, he will hold it and expect me to get super close to see it. However he never makes a move. I occasionally try to give him a small back rub, or hand on his knee or something. But he never makes a move back?

If he's showing me a video and I'm sitting there with my hand on his knee or stroking his arm, or rubbing his back how is that not obvious?

Because he's shy or scared to make a move so he is trying to play it oblivious.

Well I just have no idea on what to do then. I've made several moves on him and he doesn't turn away, but he doesn't reciprocate. Which makes me wonder if he even likes me

I do, he does not. In fact his are almost twice as long as mine.

Well, he could be super shy/inexperienced.
