How do I become a less boring person to talk to?

I’ve had a lot of diverse experiences that have helped me have a lot I can talk about with different kinds of people.


For example, if they are into art, I do graphic design, so I can talk about that. If they enjoy cooking, I’ve been cooking since I was a teenager, so I can talk about that. If they like working out, I’ve listened to 300+ podcast episodes on fitness and nutrition, so I can talk about that. If they like talking about business, I’ve spent the last 8 years reading business books, so I can talk about that. They like UFC? I’ve also trained in martial arts for 8 years. And the list goes on.


So, having diverse interests, hobbies, skills, and experiences will always give you something you can talk about. 🙂

Yet another thing I feel I have in common with you. I feel like I'm boring to most people. The only time someone is visibility interested in talking to me is if we are talking about a shared interest.

I try to work jokes into conversations, but I can only be so witty.

Being here... you can learn about so many diff. topics. Edu. yourself. Specialize in something. Be a good listener. Learn to connect with others. Be helpful. Go on youtune, learn how to communictive. complaining won't help

I'm trying to figure that out myself. I feel like such a boring person and have nothing to offer in conversations with people especially to my boyfriend. And I feel so bad about it.

Its subjective. A simple way could be to discuss different topics and maybe at least one would allow the conversation to go ahead in a flow. Common interests maybe. Also, if there is a silence, don't shy away from taking the step of changing the topic or saying something to keep the conversation going. Just my two cents regarding this.

some people like/love golf and others do think golf is the most boring thing ever... same goes for soccer and pretty much everything and everyone else in life

so, why have you decided that you're not worth anyone's time or interest? that's a very problematic thing to say in the first place
