How can I not be boring?

I (m20) was facetiming a friend of mine and her roommate (f19) and within 10 minutes of talking to me her roommate goes "you're kind of boring." That was unexpected because my friend and I seemed to be having fun talking while she was more disengaged. She also had a couple of other of comments that didn't make me feel great about myself. We ended up only talking for about another 5 minutes when due to connection problems (like actual ones but I know it was an excuse) she hung up. I asked her if she would call me back when she fixed them and she just said she would later. I know that they were facetiming another person.

I don't like that I'm not interesting. I thought we were having fun but I guess I was boring them. I know I'm not the most out-there guy. I'm a safe option with little past the surface. I've only had two girlfriends and haven't had sex yet. I feel like a loser and it comes from being boring. How can I be more interesting and more engaging?

Eh. I wouldn't worry too much about that. Just be yourself. You're not going to like every person in the world and not every person is going to like you. That doesn't mean there's something wrong with you, there's probably just not much friendship chemistry there.

My best friend ian and I have known each other for 14 years and there's never a shortage of engaging conversation between us. We have an incredible amount in common, it's one of the reasons we're best friends. Maaaaaaaany people would likely call our "engaging" conversations boring because we're mega nerds, but that's one of the biggest reasons why we're best friends too

Her friend was being a bitch, and she probably was annoyed too. And her friend sounds so immature. I wouldn't care if I lost contact with some who hangs out with someone like that.
