in Mexico we usually say guero, yes... which is a reference to both or either, blond hair and/or fair skin... regardless of nationality

if we know the person is a foreigner, then we can go with gringo... which is how we can refer to Americans

regardless of how it might have started decades... both terms, guero and gringo do not have negative connotations anymore

if a Mexican wanted to insult you or to be disrespectful, then they are just going to add a whole bunch of Mexican terms they will use to convey that... lmao, which by the way, same such terms can also be used in an endearing way and to express fondness, lmfao...

This varies by region, but a heck of a lot of Mexicans are more "blanco/a" than we Yanquis realize, because it is the more "marro'n" among them who migrate north. And indeed, much programming on Univisio'n or Telemundo has people whiter than *I* am.(Anybody know the ASCII codes for Spanish accent marks?)

And while illegal immigration (and certain abused categories of legal immigration) to the USA are problem, I would support a special VISA program for weather reporting ladies from there who would like to move. Just watch their "noticias" if you don't know what I am talking about.
