Have you ever dated someone that gets quite gooey/soppy?

He said he's dated someone before but it feels like his first relationship to me. Like a teenage relationship where he starts the "no, you hang up thing! " but that happens to a lot of our interactions.
It's cute but it's also a little tiring as I feel like I'm not there.
I do feel sometimes like the guys I've dated and the experiences I've had before have hardened me.

I find it hard to believe that he'd be like this with me.

I’ve only had relationships like that in my early teens. I haven’t met many people over 18 who have that sort of relationship style. I feel the same as you do - my past relationship experiences have hardened me, and I honestly wouldn’t have the tolerance for a gooey relationship like that these days. It would just feel like a child-like relationship to me compared to anything serious, like the sort of relationship that you have as a young teen.

You’ll be shocked by how many men i’ve come across in their 20s and 30s that are still like that. Its cute but rare that they act like that past the first 3 months

I've only ever dated 1 other guy like this. He is the second and it's weird for me... Its nice but I'm a little hardened I think from previous relationships. It's taking me a little time to adjust to this "teenage" love

I was like that with my wife.
I got a late start in dating so by the time I was in my first relationship she had already had a couple of boyfriends. I tried to be cool and not act like it was my first rodeo.
When I met my wife we were goofy and sappy around each other. Hanging out with us would have made you stick your finger down your throat. After almost 28 years we are still like that sometimes.
