Ok had deep chat about exs and why I’m single etc and told a guy I’ve dated couple of times that the last relationship I was in went too quickly with his kids calling me step mum etc I finished the relationship and went on holiday with my friends , he turned up having got on a flight and phoned to say he was in the hotel reception and declared his undying love etc I was very angry he had done that..

i told this guy thst story does it make me seem like I’m a bit horrible?

Ah, that is intense! Your ex definitely crossed a line by tracking you down like that. I can see why that would make anyone feel super weirded out.

I don't think telling this story reflects badly on you at all. From the sounds of it, you ended things reasonably once the relationship got too serious too fast. Then your ex totally lost it by showing up uninvited like that. That's not on you - you had every right to be angry.

If anything, it shows you've got good boundaries and aren't afraid to walk away when something feels off. This new guy should respect that. I wouldn't worry it makes you seem horrible. We've all had crappy exes, right?

As long as you were generally kind to the new dude and honest about where you're at now, that's all that really matters. I'm sure he can understand an intense past relationship doesn't define who you are. Just be you, and see how things go from here!
