Would this be a red flag to you?

This guy I have been talking about to asked me to go out with him on Saturday. He originally told me he was going to a comedy show on Friday but he was free Saturday and so was I. He told me we could go out on that day. Fast toward a few hours later. I texted him a place we could possibly go. He responded some hours later and said he still had the comedy show on Friday and that on Saturday he was doing something with his sister for her birthday and that they were going to a place called scene 75. I didn’t respond all day. He called me. He never even mentioned the text or the date so I did. I asked him why he didn’t tell me about his sister’s birthday when he originally asked me out. His excuse was that his sister didn’t text him about her plans to go there for her birthday until after he asked me out and then he said he was gonna ask me if I wanted to go with them. If that were the case why didn’t he ask? Why did I have to bring it up? And it no longer would be a date if I went to an event with him for his sister’s birthday. Am I overthinking it?
