Would this be considered a red flag?

About a week ago a guy I was sleeping with and seeing made the choice of cutting me out his life. He cut off everything with me including the sex. He said that he enjoyed our sexual relationship but was ready for things to come to an end. 8 days later I get a call from him wanting sex. I rejected him not because I didn't want to do it but it was late outside. He begs and begs me to come over but the answer is still no. So he gets to threatening and telling me that if I want to come back into his life this is the perfect opportunity if I don't come then he's gone forever. The answer is still no then he hangs up.

So I texted him one short text just to see if he blocked me and I wasn't. He calls me an hour later and answers the phone screaming at me right then, calling me a cowardly liar and other stuff. Before I hung up he tells me that if I keep contacting him he will drive to wherever I'm at and smack the shit out of me.

It's beyond a red flag. You dodged a bullet. He's clearly unstable. He should have respected your boundaries to say the least. The arrogance is one thing but the fact that he blew you off and then still felt entitled to your body is a deal breaker. Imagine what he would have done if he was attached and you cut him off. Men like that are capable of anything. Good riddance
