So I’ve been meeting up with a male friend and we’ve kissed a few times anyway we’ve not met for a couple of months as he’s been so busy I feel as though I get mixed signals about where this is going etc we are both divorcing out partners. Have I got a chance with him or not?

This is a conversation you need to have with him directly, because why invest in this man if it’s not going anywhere? You’re afraid to lose what you have, but it’s only been a couple months, you two aren’t dating, this wouldn’t be a loss just a failed talking phase really. I’m sure you’re tired of looking, dating, starting over with a new guy, it becomes draining. But you want a relationship with a man, where you’re both putting in the work to build something then that’s the kind of man you need to specifically look for and don’t settle for someone who doesn’t prioritize you the way you do them. After a few months, your guy already knows whether he wants a relationship with you or not, so the fact he’s backing off rather than trying to work towards something is very telling.
We have known each other for over 30 years we’ve been friends in this time
Friendship is one thing, romance is another and it sounds like that aspect of your relationship is what’s taken place the past few months. If it’s been longer then why have you settled for this? 30 years is a long time to know a person, but you two have surpassed platonic friendship and a different scenario is on the table. I can understand being scared of losing that connection but I’d be more concerned with protecting my heart and making sure he doesn’t trample over it if you two aren’t on the same page.
have you had a good chat about it?
No we haven’t as I don’t want to lose what we have already if that makes sense
it makes sense to feel that way, but if you want to know where things stand it’s your only option
Sure, I think so.
