+1 yI've never approached anyone.
Here is all I say to people:
"How many more sets do you have on this machine?"
"May I work in with you between your sets?"
"Are you finished on this?"
"Do you know if anyone is using this bench/bar?"I workout and then I leave.
I have seen lots of videos these days of these idiots setting up little recording studios in the gyms to film themselves working out. They get butthurt other people keep doing their workouts and walking by and getting in her shot or grabbing a weight. They make big deals of anyone who dares to look in her direction as if she is being "harassed".
I've personally never encountered one of these but I wouldn't stand for it and I'd probably go off if I encountered one and dared to say something to me if I wandered into her shot.
It is a freaking gym, we all have paid to use it and it is not your private film studio. I don't give a shit if me working out gets in your damn shot.

I only approach girls I am interested in and attracted to , for the most part , so yes if he is taking the time to approach you and start up a conversation with you , he is more than likely interested in you and wants to get to know you. I can’t tell you what his true intentions are on what he wants from you , that’s something you will have to figure out but he is more Than likely interested in you , if he is approaching you. He probably has been checking you out for sometime in the gym and thinks you’re attractive so he finally got the balls to approach you , just depends on what kind of person he is and how confident he is within himself

+1 yCan't say I've ever had a guy approach or talk to me at the gym unless they needed something.
No, that's not bad. Not to be rude, but I'm at the gym to workout NOT be bothered. If a guy wanted to approach me, I'd personally recommend either before I started, or as I'm leaving the gym/post workout.
Trust me, I'd love to date a fellow gymrat, but anyone that exercises usually hates being bothered during their sets or workout.00 Reply

+1 yI've only been to a public gym a few times, but not a lot as we only go once in a while. Most people don't like being bothered when they workout. If I had to guess how often that happens, very few to zero. But I'm sure other people could answer this better than me (which would be people who visit gyms frequently).

+1 yIt really depends.
People go to the gym to work out, but things can happen for a couple of reasons:
- The most obvious and definitely annoying and to avoid is that some guys just think with their dicks and will approach a girl they don't know to low key harass her. Happens but not that often, in several years of working out I've seen that happen twice and it was more cringey than harmful.
- The other instance is a combination of factors. You go to the gym routinely and especially in smaller less crowded gyms, it's very easy to simply be cordial with the people around you that you see everytime. But even in crowded gyms, stuff like "good morning", asking about which equipment/machine they are or will be using, etc.. Chit chat gets you acquainted with people and from there getting "approached" or asked out happens a bit, in my experience10 Reply- 530 opinions shared on Dating topic.
+1 yWell I hope you don’t have adult men approaching you at your local gym. If they happen mistake you for older then I really hope you speak up about right away about it.
Anyway I used to (tactfully) approach women in the gym. I went one of my past gfs at a local gym. However I wouldn’t ever approach a girl I first saw. It’s usually I after I have seen a her few times I would say something and be careful not to interrupt her in a middle of a workout.
But nowadays I don’t approach at all. I’m extremely careful not to look at an attractive woman. I will only say something if a woman says something to me first.
This is what gets me paranoid.
01 Reply 6K opinions shared on Dating topic. I don't approach women at all at the gym at all for anything not related to weightlifting, spotting or I know them anything else it's not really the place for it.
That being said I'm not going to tell someone to piss off if they approach me or if they wanna workout with me or something and we talk while we're doing that.
But as a general rule I don't approach women at the gym unless it's related to weightlifting or I know them like I said above.
Though I do occasionally ask people if they require assistance an old habit of mine from when I was a PT that I havn't totally shaken off lol.

+1 yI mean, truthfully I don't see anything wrong with it, but I do see how it could get annoying if guys came up to hit on girls trying to workout 24/7, so being respectful and giving them space to workout is important... I've called girls attractive at the gym, but never anything more than that. I'm not really good at flirting anyways, so I just leave it at a compliment and go my way.

+1 yI'm not there for that. Neither do girls look like they're there to be approached. Though they do love their attention regardless, with scant, tight clothing and by "happenstance" often walking up to do squats right in front of me, or pose their butts in the mirror beside me.
10 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. Not sure I´ve heard girls say it´s an uncomfortable place to be approached for them but there are surely guys that do it anyways. So I would assume that some guys do but most don´t and therefore the guys that do are more confident since they take the risk of getting her angry with them.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 ysome do some don't. if you get approached by a guy at the gym, it's not really a badge of honor (nothing to brag about), because they're just manwhores looking to plow. And if you don't get approached by anyone, it shouldn't make you feel unattractive or undesirable. It just means the people there are trying to use the gym for the intended purpose of exercising, and not trying to find a date.

+1 yI get approached every now and then at the gym. Usually more from the newer guys or from those who are visiting. Most of the guys at my gym already know me and know I have a boyfriend.
