There's no minimum. Plenty of guys with little money have dates and mates.

Don't do things because you imagine it will get you dates. Do things because you consider them important to your own future. You're 37. What's your plan for the next 30 years?

Depends where you live and what you mean by "in the bank." Interest rates aren't all that attractive yet, so little of my money is in the actual bank. I just transfer enough there every month to cover the credit cards. Also, coffee for two in London may run you $15 with a croissant. In Hong Kong you can do it for maybe $3.

You should have enough that the actual act of dating isn't going to negatively impact your overall financial situation.
