My maximum is $10 plus tip. What is yours?
I understand your spending bracket and I'm positively sure you have reason for it on a first date... even though the rate we are going nowadays that will barely cover a coffee soon.
However would you kindly answer my curiousity?
Has there ever been a woman you have gone out of your way for on a first date, spent more money than you would have normally done, in other words, did she gain enough of your attention to know she could be worth it?
If you did, where did you first meet and how long was it before you asked her out on that first quite expensive date?
by the way my answer is it all depends on how much he impresses me prior to asking him out. 😊02 Reply- +1 y
@zatsuma Excellent question. Not on a first date. TBH if a women really likes you she doesn't care where or how she gets to see you. I've been on a lot of dates in my life so I'm sure there's a date where I spent more than I budgeted for but nothing comes to mind. W/out me actually getting to sit and talk privately w/ the women, how would she get my attention? in my opinion you only take women out on expensive dates if they're exclusively yours. Trying to impress a women w/ an expensive gesture to early in a relationship is a waste of time and resources, the same way some women like to withhold sex, because they want men to earn it I believe in withholding resources until the woman earns it.

2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. It really depends on the situation. Most first dates have been very casual things - getting some ice cream and walking in the park, that kind of thing - but I've taken a girl ice skating, one to a concert, and two to the gun range. Those all costed more, but I wasn't really concerned about the cost.
What I don't do is lavish dinner dates. That is a huge mistake and most girls who want that are usually looking for a lifestyle upgrade more than a relationship.10 Reply

+1 yIt depends. If we're having dinner, dinner for two at a restaurant (not talking McDonalds here) is at least $50. If we're just having coffee (Starbucks?), maybe $15-$20. I don't view how much I spend on a date as what's really important... what's really important is how the date goes, are we both enjoying it... and each other.

"TBH -- honest with whom? ".. if a woman really likes you, she doesn't care where or how she gets to see you."I don't believe that for a moment. There are plenty of places a woman would NOT want to meet you, depending on her preferences. Let's say you suggest "let's meet at Popeye's for lunch over our lunch break", and she says "Why, so I can smell like grease when I go back to the office?" No matter how much they like you, they still care about the where and how on a 1st date.
"I've been on a lot of dates in my life" - maybe that explains why? Just thinking out loud.
08 Reply- +1 y
@loveslongnails That's my total budget for the first date. TBH w/ however deemed this important enough to listen or comment. You may not "believe" it however there's people that refuse to believe in Police Brutality even when watching a video of it. You're dating out of sense of fear, sounds like your biggest concern is how you'll be perceived by the women vs having confidence in yourself. Also I doubt Popeyes would be under $10 so it's not applicable to begin w/. The interaction you're describing is one between a woman that has no real interest in you. If a woman is complaining about where you are taking her, why are you spending your time w/ her in the first place. Yes a lot of date including 2nd dates and 200th dates which only proves that my method is successful.
- +1 y
Yeah, I've heard your explanation before about dating out of fear. It's total bullshit, and once again, you're missing the point. YOU THINK that I lack confidence because whaaaat... I might want to take a woman to a place on our first date that exceeds 10 bucks in total! That's hilarious. I guess you're taking her to Mickey D's or the 7-11 for a slurpee.
Try including your first date budget in your invitation... "I'd like to take you out but only someplace where our total date won't cost more than 10 bucks, unless you want to pay the overage." Any woman who agrees to that, not based on the money but just the weirdness and chutzpah, well, you deserve each other.
Oh, if you're on a 200th date, are you spending $10 a piece now? I NEVER worry if a woman perceives me as a spender or a miser, because money is NEVER an issue for me on a first date because of the women I choose. Obviously, it's all over the back of your mind.
- +1 y
@loveslongnails TY for being a fan of my work. No, you lack confidence because you have tied the success of your date to your budget. It is telling that the question simply ask what your budget is yet you've taken offense to mine. If you're happy w/ the amount you spend not sure why you feel the need to defend it.
Yes the hypothetical question you created does sound weird, not sure why you shared it.
I've spent 20k + on dates b4. I simply shared my 1st date strategy, your own insecurities created these other fictional situations. Based on what you shared it sounds like you're only concerned w/ what women think and lack enough respect for yourself. If "money isn't an issue" as you claim then not spending any on a date wouldn't be relevant. - +1 y
Hmm... searching for the part where I said I was a fan of your work... still looking.
I love people who base all their assumptions on their own narratives. Not only that but you keep reiterating your same belief which you are convinced is true, and that only makes it more laughable.
I'm so laden with insecurity and lack of self-respect because? ... I think you're a cheap ass, and because I do NOT go into a date with pre-set limit of what a potentially great time might cost! LOL Your $10 first date gets a psychologist too without realizing it. What a deal!!
I have no clue what "I've spent 20k on dates b4" means? Let me do the math... you said you've been on 200+ dates. Were they all first dates, because that would be only 2k, not 20k. Or is that your lifelong total at the age of 45? The fact that you may even KNOW what that number is, or can even approximate it, just proves my point. LOL - +1 y
@loveslongnails I'm guessing you're laden w/ insecurities for a lot of reason but none more telling then your willingness to comment on anothe man's dating etiquette. Another telling factor is that u continue to leave out the 1st date part presumably I'm some attempt to justify your position. Lol, I'm not surprised you have no clue what 20k means. It stands for $20,000. Also your fear of believing that a budget on a first date somehow limits your potential of having a second is telling. You have to reach into your pocket because that may he the only way you can attract a women. I have the luxury of options which allows me to dictate when and how often I get to see a woman. I understand your confusion, but perhaps if you improve your value you won't need to bribe women for dates.
- +1 y
Dude,... now your really just being plain stupid. I mean really fucking stupid. You know absolutely nothing about me, and like I said, your sophomoric analysis does nothing but suit your already erroneous narrative.
You are the one who ASKED the question on the max amount for a first date. You INVITED people to comment on your "dating etiquette". LOL I don't know what 20K means? Are you whacked? I even did the math for you.
I just can't help but laugh at a "man" who thinks, in today's society, that spending $5 a person on a first date equates to "reaching into your pocket", or thinking that a man is bribing a woman because, holy shit, shit down, he might spend $6 or $7 on her because she'd like a pastry with her coffee. "Sorry honey, but the coffee alone is 5 bucks, and that's my max. You gotta buy that pastry on your own."
Yes sir, I can see the etiquette dripping off of you as she rolls her eyes. LOL. - +1 y
@loveslongnails I only know what you told me. Which is your ability to get a date is tied to how much money you spend, and you read my content. Correct, I asked a question requesting information on how much you spend on 1st date I provided my number as to not be hypocritical. No one had a problem providing a straight answer except for you, who either struggles w/ reading comprehension or is simply jealous. Hate to be the one to break this to you but your math is off, and filled w/ false assumptions. You may laugh however if I'm getting laid for free while u have to come up w/ a complex financial plan just to get a woman to go out w/ you out not only is the joke on you, but you're the same guy that women laugh about to me after I'm done having sex w/ them. It's unfortunate that you have to work so hard, however guys like me don't need to. TBH I've invited women on first dates to Hotel Rooms and had success. Im not sure why its so dofficult for you but I guess u fall into that 80% category chasing 10% of women that don't want HV men.
- +1 y
Like I said, you've really gone over into stupid land. LMAO
"Which is your ability to get a date is tied to how much money you spend". Totally moronic.
" ... u have to come up w/ a complex financial plan just to get a woman to go out w/ you..."

10 Reply My upcoming first date with a girl I met online will cost me around $100 depending on when I book the train tickets. The wonders of long distance dating when neither party is able to drive 😝
I know that the food costs around $10 at the restaurant I've picked for the date.
Note: dollar amounts are listed in USD assuming a 10 SEK exchange rate.14 Reply- +1 y
I live in a big university city, but I am ineligible for driving school and have weird luck on dating apps. The girl I'm about to date lives in an inland town and also doesn't drive a car, so both of us are bound to public transit.
That's just how online dating is. Sometimes you vibe the best with the people living further away from you.

Treat her like your guy friends, if you end up being besties, then flirt with her, if she flirts back, you don't need to go on dates, you just skip that part and start a relationship because you already know everything about eachother just from hanging out snd enjoying eachother's company. - +1 y

@missboogus Going for food is the absolute worse 1st date idea for a myriad of reasons. In fact guys shouldn't be taking women on dinner dates until she's earned it. Vice-versa for that matter.
- +1 y
āāā.
- +1 y
@missboogus There's a bunch of reasons. Now I'm going to give u three but if you respond back w/ female nature of pretending those are the only three reasons I'm going to have to block you.
1. Introducing unnecessary decision making. If you're picking the restaurant for a girl you've never met you've got to hope it's her kind of place, vibe, food etc. All these extras are unnecessary.
2. You don't know if the girl is going there for u or a free meal - Sucks to say but there are many insecure women willing to use a guy for a free meal, if you're getting a date by telling a girl you're taking her someplace fancy u have no way of knowing if she said yes because of you or the location.
3. Interruptions- Restaurant business models are designed to get customers in and out. Dating is designed to get to know someone new, it's almost impossible to do when every 10 seconds you're being interrupted by a server. - +1 y
I suppose. I donāt know if Iāve been on a date or not? Iām mostly interested in the ānatureā of dating but youāre not making it sound very fun lmao
- +1 y
@missboogus Lol, that's just my philosophy I'm sure there are plenty of guts that have a different POV. But let's be honest dating is set up for the woman to receive and the man to invest, what you don't like is the thought of receiving less, but this is why I use those strategies. I only want to spend my time w/ women who are genuinely interested in me.
- +1 y
