Guys, how much of an age gap can you tolerate in a relationship?

Let me honest, because I want to say I can tolerate any age difference as long as it is the right person. Because honestly dating is hard, and I would not want to eliminate good people based upon something as arbitrary as age.

I mean at 47, I am healthier and more fit then at least 50% of men 10 or more years younger than me. But I am not running marathons or doing 100-mile bike rides, but I see women online all the time that are well into their 50's doing these things. Its impressive to me, because I would never do those things, but I appreciate all the work and effort she is putting into it... and that is impressive. And she is doing those things on her own and does not need me to do them with her.

Realistically though 10 years difference is ideal for me. I mean it's a generational thing honestly. See I was one of the last of my generation to go all the way through Highschool without the internet. I never had a email account until I was 22 years old in 1998, and that is because my boss said I will get one or I will not promote. Social media... I was 26, before I got a Facebook account.

But women who are like only 5 years younger than men, had all these things in highschool and younger. The ones older than me, well again they are like me, but they were older in life before the internet or social media.

So young people these days, really have a hard time relating to how much social media had affected them or made them who they are today. How heavily it has impacted them in terms of how it has affected their ability to perceive the external world, for opinions and make decisions. Because for them, this just how it's always been for them, its who they are, and they have never lived in world or place that all that social media was never more than a fingertip away. With all the texting and constant interactions.

So, I try to date people I can relate to on a personal level. That means usually never more than 3 to 4 years apart. But honestly, I would like to say that I evaluate everyone on an individual level, and age is not a determining factor. But I am not going to lie to you, it does matter.

1. The significance of age gap in a relationship depends on the age you are at, as well as your gender.

2. When I was 24, I dated a woman who was 42. When I was 62, I had a date with a woman who was 81, and several dates with a woman who was 78. When I was 53, I dated a girl who was 36. I am now 68 and engaged to a lady who just turned 60.

3. For me, it's not age per se, but common interests and compatibility. A larger age difference means we are less likely to have common inerests, but that rule doesn't always apply.

As long as there is mutual physical attraction, sexual compatibility, and no glaring personality conflicts, I don't really have a hard limit in either direction but I've found throughout ny life girls who are a different age than me such that it would be visibly apparent we are different ages to any casual observer have been pretty hard to talk to in any meaningful way, due to glaring personality conflicts.

I am 20 right now, so the lowest I would go is 18 and the highest would possibly be around 22.

The thing is for me is that I'm essentially going through the "teenage years" of adulthood, so there can be a big difference between me and someone who is 23. So it depends where we both are in life, since I do not one of us significantly farther or behind the other.

i don't care, i could date a woman twice my age if she is hot and has qualities i want.
normally let's just say 10 if the man is the older one.

Doesn't matter as long as they're an adult and I like them. I've dated 15 years older and my wife is 8 years younger. Most of my exes are great people regardless of age.

10 years tops. A nice relationship can be had with a wider gap, but it grows exponentially more difficult to manage

I think it more so depends on the personality or interests of the person, rather than their age (which, yes, I know has some loose impact on personality or interests).
