Why hasn’t he officially asked me to be his girlfriend yet introduced me to his family and friends and talks about our future together?

We’ve talked about it a few times. He mentioned our “relationship” once and when I asked him about it, he said we’re not official yet since he wants to get his life together since “I deserve more” but otherwise we act like we’re in a relationship

Maybe he didn't know that is what you are supposed to do. Somebody should write a book about this stuff. I never knew how to ask out a girl. I had no clue about having her meet my family. I was not well versed about proposing marriage.
