Why hasn’t he asked me to be his girlfriend?

I’ve been seeing this guy for 6 months now and we talk every single day and see each other once or twice a week. He tells me everything and calls me all the time and takes a genuine interest in my life. We have our usual date night spot now but he still hasn’t asked me to be his girlfriend.

I’m starting to feel like I’m just his “filler” girl until he finds someone who is more his type. We have heaps in common and our personality and life goals match perfectly, however I don’t think I’m his physical type. Do you think he is just keeping me as his second option until someone better comes along or do you think im just overthinking it and maybe he hasn’t even thought about making it official, or maybe he already thinks we are, I don't know im so confused I tried to bring it up with him but chickened out cos I guess im scared of what his answers gonna be and I don’t wanna look stupid. Help!

Probably for the same reason you haven't asked him to be your boyfriend. You're both afraid to ask or your not sure how to ask. Maybe your both waiting for a romantic moment that just feels perfect for it. What ever the reason for hesitating, if you want him to know how you feel, then you need to express that.

And if you think he is under the impression that you are already boyfriend and girlfriend, then you need to have a conversation about that. Let him know that you need to clarify what this relationship is.
