I'm 24 and scared of marrying too late to have kids. What do I do?

Marriage is a stage in the relationship both partners need to be ready for, and preparations should to be made for.


In this day and age, everyone is rushing to get married and start families so young without making proper preparations. For example: having children and not having a stable income as well stable living conditions.


Don’t rush, take your time, date and see who peaks your interests and who you connect with best. When you both feel it’s time to step it up the next level, talk about it and move at a pace you’re both comfortable with.

Be patient, date actively, be clear about your goals. When you meet someone, ask them about theirs. The first date is not too soon. There's a difference between "Where would you like to be in five years?" and "I'm not going to date you if you aren't interested in marriage in 2024."

I don't recommend waiting that late.

Freezing eggs is not a guaranteed way to "have it all".

You can't "have it all". It's a lie.

Find a guy your age who wants to marry YOU, not just in principle. Get married. Have kids. It's easier to have a career later in life than a family. I'm 51 with a 5 year old boy. Trust me, it's not going to be easy.

Uh, I talked to a guy who is 56 and got laid off. It is not easy having a career, or a job, later in life, as most jobs look for < 35. With 20 years experience.

I have a relative who had his first kid at 56, his second at 60 (obviously his wife is about 20 years younger). He seems to be doing OK.

I'm happy for him. I really am.

My personal situation is that just after my son was born I got an injury to my foot which ultimately led to an amputation that had I been 20 years younger I'd have recovered from. Older bodies heal more slowly and sometimes not at all.

So I'm 51, forced into a new career path because of the amputation and trying to keep up physically with a smart-assed 5 year old. I just had to get a "phone call from Santa" to try to get him to calm down by explaining what you get if your name is on the "naughty" list!

Stay fit, be feminine, keep your body count low, and make finding a man your priority over things like your career or your friends. When a good man does come along who you know is marriage-minded you will need to submit to him and get on his program. When he is getting to know you don't engage in hoe behaviors like going to bars or clubs, hanging out with other dudes, having contact with previous sexual partners, or posting slutty pictures of yourself on the internet.

You're still pretty young.. My sister is 38 and had her first baby and now is having a second one.. So You're fine.. Just don't compromise and date with intent..

Don’t be. My wife and I married when she was 29 and I was 30. 2008. We had a son in 2012 - just 4 years later 👍🙂. He’s now 11. But she hit early menopause about 3 years after he was born.

Normally, you would have 15 to 20 year’s if menopause doesn’t set in abnormally early. Relax and enjoy life. Do some things that you want to do before settling down to raise a family.
