My boyfriend and I planned to watch a movie that I picked tonight and he called me earlier saying that he doesn’t want to watch a stupid movie. How he was telling his friend that he doesn’t get to see me often and his friend said it’s stupid to go see the movie with me. I’m really upset. All he wants is to go to his place and have sex. Any dinner date has always been my idea like not once has he treated me for dinner at a restaurant. We’ve also never even gone to watch a movie together. I messaged him saying that I’m upset and hurt that he said he would go and he hasn’t replied.

I’m actually even more hurt because he told me that he doesn’t want to go because this summer he went with a girl he wanted to sleep with and that the chairs were uncomfortable and this was after he brought her to dinner.

Aw man, that really sucks that your boyfriend bailed on movie plans with you last minute like that. And it sounds like his priorities definitely seem off if all he ever wants to do is hook up and won't even take you out for a nice dinner.

I'd be pissed too if I were you. It's not cool how he brushed off your movie pick as "stupid" just cuz his friend said so. Like what does that dude know? And who cares what they think - you're his girlfriend!

He should be making more effort to do fun couple stuff you both enjoy, not just blowing you off when his friends come calling. You deserve to feel cared about and respected in this relationship.

I say give him some space for now until he pulls his head out of his ass. Then lay it all out - how his actions made you feel, that you expect more balance between quality time and intimacy, and that your wants matter just as much as his. If he can't meet you halfway, might be time to rethink this whole thing. You deserve way better than how he's been treating you!
