Do you ever go out drinking by yourself?

Used to for a long time. From late 2019 to early 2021 I was dealing with a lot of things that left me emotionally and mentally drained and depressed. I pretty much became a functioning alcoholic, would pop into the bar before my shift to drink a few to bury the feelings I was having and a way to lighten up and do it again after my shift since the bar was open then. Didn't feel like being around anyone or talking to anyone and kept to myself and drowning myself in alcohol to the point of getting tipsy or intoxicated enough to the point I could fall asleep easier and not be awake to my thoughts.

Been sober for over three months now and feel good. But after that period I just talked about, I did interact and dri k with new friends afterward, not to get drunk and drown my issues, but to have fun and build conmections.

I am not opposed to drinking, at all, but if I am driving, my limit is one drink and only if I will have at least an hour after I finish it before I get in my car to go anywhere. So that's too much for one drink!

I used to, when I was 19-20. My boyfriend at the time didn’t have ID, so he could never come out drinking with me. And I didn’t have many friends since I was living in a new town. There was this little cocktail bar in the middle of town that made the most delicious Moscow mule cocktail. I would go once per week at 5.30pm, shortly after they open for the night, and have a few cocktails while the bar was empty.

I have, and do. Just a week ago i went to have a drink at buffalo wild wings... and then had a drink at some fancy place... one drink. I am not a heavy drinker so learning that having one beer or so won't have me stumbling. Also when I'm drinking by myself, i'm saving everyone from how my stomach feels or what my mouth will say. :x

No, definitely not by myself. I rather drink with some friends or even family members around because I don't wanna be drinking by myself and I feel awkward if I'm out with friends or family and I'm the only one having a drink, it be nice to share one with at least one other person.

Yes, when I was younger. Somedays I just could not deal with sitting home alone so I would go out to a bar someplace and just hang out and check out the sights. Actually one year on the day after Christmas I met somebody an a bar that I dated for 4 or 5 months. she was the bartender.

Out drinking, drinking? No. But I’m used to travelling by myself and will always make the most of time alone, which might include cocktails and wine with a nice dinner

I don't drink anymore but I have gone to the bar alone a few times. It was never a good idea. Not having any one to talk to and having social anxiety lead me to put down the whiskey sours at a pretty good clip. Whitin an hour I'd be lit.

I did that like a couple of times, I dont really have friends to go out with. If there is a certain bar or restaurant I really want to try out, I go there, no matter if its alone
