Just because you’re feeling lonely doesn’t mean you should go open old doors. If you’ve lost contact since he told you this then to me it sounds like a long time ago, so how do you even know he still loves you? He could have moved on by now even if it’s not on social media.
If he still loves you then go ahead.. but how do you know he likes you?
I would find it neat to get a request from an old friend regardless of intention. So many just stalk and never bother to reach out

Unless you're a crazy stalker that they are trying to get away from, guys don't care about that and don't think it's creepy, only girls do.
If someone that loves you finds you creepy they don't love you.
Anybody can figure out that it is me you love so much.
Go for it! You have nothing to lose, and magic might just happen. If you don't, you will never know. It may not work out, but if you don't try, it certainly won't!
Only guys have to worry about being creepy. It's very hard for a girl to be creepy, and if she's attractive it's literally impossible. Go ahead and reach out to him.
Just send it and stop overthinking. Only women tend to be dumb enough to think attraction is creepy.
