There's definitely a difference between a dude who opens doors for his dates and one who doesn't. Here's how I see it:

- A guy who opens doors comes across as more polite, respectful and thoughtful. It shows he cares about little things like making his date feel comfortable and special.

- When a guy doesn't open doors, it can seem lazy or like he doesn't care enough to do a small gesture. It gives a more selfish impression, like he isn't thinking about his date's experience.

- Opening doors is also kind of old-school romantic. Girls usually like when a guy takes the time to do little chivalrous things - it shows he wants to treat her right.

- Not opening doors could make a girl feel taken for granted or like an afterthought. Like the dude isn't putting any effort into impressing her.

- Bottom line, it's about respect. Treating a girl with little courtesies like opening doors shows you respect her enough to make an effort. Girls tend to like guys who make them feel special like that on dates.

So in my opinion, a dude who makes the effort to open doors is conveying that he's polite, thoughtful, and respects his date. It's an easy little thing that can make an impression. Just shows you care.
