First date ideas and tips?

I’m going on a first date with a guy this weekend. We went to his high school years ago and we have mutual friends but we surprisedly never hung out. So technically this is the first time meeting in person. He asked what I was thinking of doing. And I have no idea because he lives in a small college town. I also don’t want to say anything too expensive because he’s a college student so I want to be considerate too and not get crazy.

He definitely wants to go out and do something but it’s like what is there to do (that’s not in his place). Also, we both are 24 years old

Also any first date tips would be great because I am very nervous and I hadn’t went on a date in a while. (Got out of a relationship like 6 months ago)

I met my wife on FB dating... turns out we went to the same high school too. We never heard of one another, because I was a senior when she was in 8th grade.

Going to the same HS, we knew a lot of the same people.

Your situation gives you two common ground to strike up. co conversation. Go somewhere where you can do a lot of talking.

Go to something simple, like meet him at a cafe and have a drink and a snack. See how the vibe is, if the vibe is good you can continue doing something else after like touring the town for a bit.

It's reasonable to do some kind of everyday-life shopping with him. Going for groceries and then grilling them out is a fine show of choices and cooking, plus it's food for both.
