a status of wealth?
just like how men like to drive expensive cars? women like to wear expensive jewelry?

I'm not proficient in distinguishing diamonds from Swarovski crystals (my favorite :D ), pricey cars from normal ones, and "social status" means totally nothing to me...
So... no... not for people like me.
Objectively, I can be called a wealthy person. I have a home, assets, and a handsomely paid job. But what is more important is that I have great people around me. I don't care what status they have. And I'm smart, independent, and witty. Those are traits I value in other people.
Sparkling gems don't make any impression on me. Because I don't care how much wealth you wear on you... for me, it is important to know what kind of person you are.
It's different from driving an expensive car. Better cars are both more comfortable inside and handle better. Honda has upped their game, but in 2011 I moved from a Civic to BMW 328 and the difference was eye-opening.
I believe that if you are going to wear diamonds, plural...
then you better have the wealth to pay for everything else that goes with it...
otherwise it might just be tacky and/or pretentious AF
well if someone is wearing diamond rings, then she must have the money to obtain it.
gifts do exist..
same as all those guys with a Benz or a BMW... but no house, lol
haha how many women have people buying them 10-35k gifts?
[same as all those guys with a Benz or a BMW... but no house, lol ]
they likely already have a house. thats why they can afford to splurge on extra cars or jewelry.
if you go to Washington... Hollywood... a whole lot...
not the ones I know
@nathandavis
washington and hollywood is home to the richest people on earth
I have walked into many business meetings and parked next to them with my Chrysler lmfao...
@nathandavis
so what?
So... Image is not wealth
you're just jealous.
jealous of diamonds or BM's? lol...
there's nothing wrong with buying and wearing jewelry. sounds like you're really desperate to shame it.
Never said it was... but you're the one feeling defensive, lol
you keep implying that the person wearing diamond rings must not be able to afford it.
maybe you can't imagine ever affording it, but there are plenty of people who can.
What I said is... affording one or two diamonds is not a sign of wealth
1 diamond ring can range from 10k to 50k.
so yes, it can be a sign of wealth.
not really, no...
a middle class person can save that much, get a loan... or sell their car, and get one diamond for that much...
and it will not mean wealth at all... nor status
it only means you bought an overpriced diamond
@nathandavis
if you sold your car, how would you drive to work?
if you borrowed a loan, you must make enough money to qualify for that loan. It means you make enough money for the bank to have enough faith in you that you will be able to repay it back. So you can't be poor if the bank allowed you permission for the loan.
wealth means plentiful...
qualifying for a bank loan... that's not the same thing, lol
@nathandavis
loaners don't play around with their big bucks. No wise person will give you 50-100k in loans so you can buy yourself some stupid jewelry if they know you don't make enough money to pay it back after all your expenses.
This is different from student loans where banks understand that you would have a good chance at repaying it back after you get yourself a good career.
wealthy people don't have to go to the bank to ask for loans... to get a diamond
@nathandavis
nobody said rich people need to go to a bank to ask for loans to get a diamond.
only you said people needed to go to bank to ask for loans to get a diamond.
maybe you need a loan to buy a diamond, i don't have to.
I don't need to buy diamonds
@nathandavis
but either way... you won't qualify for the loan to get a diamond if the bank doesn't think you can pay it back- which means you must already have strong income coming in.
believe it or not, rich people take out loans all the time to buy houses / diamonds because they invested a lot of their wealth. Rich people understand that a million dollars sitting in the bank does nothing for them, their money is better off being invested so it can grow.
@nathandavis
let me guess... you're wealthy AF...
@nathandavis
wealthy is relative. but i can tell you that I can afford things
you can afford a sparkly diamond?
doesn't cost that much
i worked hard for it. just a way to make up for all that hard work
well... if a sparkly diamond is what makes you happy...
most of them lose value over time, though...
they increase in value. especially gold.
you mean yellow diamonds?
i only buy clear , best cut , flawless diamonds. the highest quality.
common ones... these are not the ones that increase in value...
only poor people like you need their jewelry to increase in value. rich people don't.
if you're going to try to pretend you're wealthy... you still have a lot of work to do, lol...
@nathandavis
because i am wealthy... and clearly you're jealous.
evidently... lol
you do have one diamond
@nathandavis
nah... you're just hoping I only have 1 cuz thats the only thing keeping you sane throughout this conversation.
i can buy diamonds any time, dude.
yes, and you can get all the loans too... lol, to get all those "gold diamonds"
i have enough to buy diamonds. don't need loans. I just bought mine a few days ago.
at least i have diamonds.. you can't even buy 1
and now you're wealthy status... with your one gold diamond
@nathandavis
I also bought diamond earrings too.
[ and now you're wealthy status... with your one gold diamond ]
at least i can buy a diamond, you will never be able to buy one even if you were getting married.
I actually get them by the dozen...
haha thats right. thats the ring you gonna give your wife when you marry
