How do you go about a guy that says he eventually wants a relationship but at the moment his life is a mess?

He said he wants to be able to provide for my needs in the relationship. I am unsure whether to lightly tread on this situation or let it go. I like him a lot and a couple of days ago asked what he wanted from the situation and he said exactly it’s going to go in the direction I’m looking for. I really need advice because I’m not sure whether to take it day by day or just let go

I never put much stock in those sorts of excuses. Tell him it’s now or never. You’re not a damn restaurant where he can just show up and eat whenever he wants.

I really don’t want to force a relationship onto him at all , we have only been talking for two months. I just don’t know how to go about it. I’m stuck and find myself pulling back

Well it’s also been a very wishy washy two months. I was in the hospital for a week for something , then I recently got into a car accident that held us back from seeing each other. We have seen each other twice this month really tbh because of everything. I just don’t really know if I should chance it out longer despite everything
