Never have but I don't think I'd ever reach the point of dating such a woman in the first place, since a lot of what suggested to me that a woman was receptive to the idea of dating me was to exchange such affectionate touches.

I always valued nonverbal communication even more than the verbal. It might be in part because I grew up having to learn new languages all the time, so I came to really value carefully observing people's body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, the subtext between what they explicitly said, all to try to understand them better on an emotional level even when I couldn't understand all the words they said.

Also I see the difference between a gentleman and one who crosses boundaries as not one who asks to kiss a woman. That's thoroughly unromantic to me; there's always some degree of spontaneity in what I consider romantic. It's one who works his way up to it while careful to read nonverbal cues to make sure we don't cross boundaries, like starting off touching her hand affectionately only to see that affectionate touch reciprocated, to hug and see that reciprocated, to hold hands, to dance, initially at more of a distance, and then perhaps work up to cheek to cheek, then finally kiss and only if everything has been received and reciprocated so far. So I'd never even get to the point of kissing a woman if she was not receptive or reciprocating of all these affectionate touches of mine. We'd never make it that far in the first place unless she just kissed me out of the blue, at which point I'd generally think things are moving too quickly without the affectionate build-up that leads to that kiss.

Some people just aren't meant for relationships. Relationships are hard work and they need to improve each other’s lives in order to make them work.

If one person has intimacy issues, that’s a big nono. That person needs to work on themselves before they start dating.

and I don't think I would try that because closeness is very important to me, it is a must, and I do like that kind of affinity so I can be more genuine about it and into that relationship

now, I've been with people who are more or less affectionate too, but not entirely off their lives
