Do you hold hands on the first date?

I did on almost every single first date, just offering my hand out there when we started walking together. That said, we already had some chemistry at least. I didn't go on blind dates or women I hadn't met in person yet (never tried online dating).

So it wasn't a very bold or forward move to offer my hand for her to hold on a first date. We might have already danced and kissed by that point before we even went on our first date.

My favorite first date was actually amusement parks if she was down for it. I find after riding a thrilling rollercoaster and other scary rides that sometimes my date would clasp my arm and smile and laugh a lot before I even offered my hand to hold. Always seemed like the perfect icebreaker to me, seeing our hair all messed up and laughing really hard.

I'm pretty sure I have on most first dates at some point. I usually plan some kind of activity that involves a bit of walking, or sometimes being in a crowd (going to see live music at a local bar or something). That's usually a good excuse, and if she goes along with it or pulls away, it's a good indicator of how she's feeling.

If a date went well, it was often my date who took my hand afterward. It's the sweetest thing in the world when a woman slips her little hand trustingly into mine as if I make her feel safe and secure. And she hopes that her gesture will be welcome.

But I've offered my hand first on several occasions when we were walking somewhere.

Usually at some point you hold hands and both have that smile towards each other. Time of year and temperature also play a part, it may be glove to glove or if it’s really hot and you are outside, sweaty hands ain’t fun lol. I am left handed and hate holding hands with my right hand, so that is often a fun bit of swapping sides lol.

No. I wouldn’t even kiss or go on a fancy dinner unless I knew her and vetted her from the start. First dates are just to sit and talk and get to know each other. Check out each others vibes.. men have it backwards.
