It’s sounds like a mixture of both uncertainty and insecurity. He doesn’t know what he wants, and is afraid he’ll never find a girl as nice as you have been to him again. Like he’s caught in a tide of wanting one thing, then feeling undeserving of it, and then being afraid to lose what he already has.
