I am an 18-year-old girl who has yet to experience a romantic relationship and remains a virgin. I often find myself questioning what might be wrong with me, as the individuals who show interest in me tend to exhibit disrespectful behavior towards women, using derogatory terms like "bitches" or "hoes." Additionally, I sometimes attract individuals who possess unstable or manipulative tendencies. Should I go ahead use a dating app?

Aw man, don't be so hard on yourself! At 18 there's nothing wrong with not being in a relationship or still being a virgin. Everyone goes at their own pace with that stuff. And those guys who showed interest in you honestly just sound like total douchebags. No wonder you didn't want anything to do with them if they're out here calling girls bitches and hoes. You gotta trust your gut - you probably dodged some bullets there! As for attracting unstable or manipulative people, we've all been there. It just means you're smart enough to see through their BS already. Using a dating app could be okay to try meeting some new people, just be super careful and don't feel pressured into anything. You seem like a really cool girl to me. I'm sure when the right guy comes along and treats you with respect, you'll know. But most importantly, try not to be so hard on yourself. You're amazing just the way you are!

At your age it's common to notice the people who are in relationships, but ignore all the ones who are not in relationships. There is absolutely nothing wrong or unusual about never being in a relationship at your age.

The guys approaching you are not representative. The most aggressive guys are the one who are most likely to approach you. They are the ones most likely to approach any woman. They are not the best guys, so don't think much of it.

Have patience and wait for someone better to come along. Or better yet, do the approaching yourself instead of waiting for them.

You could try a dating app, but only use one that has a high character limit in the bio, or you will just get hookup requests.

I don't know about the dating app cause that seems like an even bigger waste of time but if these men are around your age range, some teenagers don't mature til their 20s so this sounds like normal high school behavior, I'd say date men a bit older or wait til your 20s when people in general have a more mature mindset on relationships.
