How to break it off?

I’ve been talking to this guy, but he doesn’t make plans to see me or hang out in any capacity but we have good banter and talk about other things. But I do believe that if he was really interested he would try and see me in person. I don’t want to ghost him, so how do I remove myself from the situation without being rude about it? Do I say something or just slowly distance myself?

If you don't care for him either that much or obviously he doesn't care for you, then why even bother. I had someone friendzone me like that. It was disrespectful and hurtful so just whatever. Whether you confront him about it or not, the result is still the same so it would be your choice.
