Do you take it as a red flag if your partner doesn’t ever get jealous at all? Even a little bit?

Would you take someone you’re dating not ever being jealous as a sign they trust you completely or that they must not care about you all that much? Or something entirely different?

so i mean at all. Like not even the tiniest bit. Like even if you were to hug an ex of yours right in front of them, they just don’t get jealous.

how would you feel about that?

While its good he doesn’t get super jealous, It’s a red flag to me if he doesn’t get jealous even a little bit for me. because it means they aren’t really into me

Not in my wife's case. She's really a practiced Buddhist, almost like a Zen Buddhist monk.

One thing that did worry me early into dating though was not her lack of jealousy but her lack of ever getting upset or offended for any reason whatsoever. Like she seemed too good to be true.

For example, I got so drunk one time at a party that I passed out at 3 AM and my wife (then just girlfriend) slung me over her shoulder, hailed a taxi, put me in bed in her apartment, went shopping for hangover medicine and food, slept on her couch, then went to work at 9 AM in the morning while leaving me a note with the food and medicine she bought telling me she hopes I feel better with hearts. WTF. How is she not pissed? All my ex-girlfriends would have even considered breaking up with me if they saw me so drunk that I passed out like that, probably would have even left me passed out as the party.

So it was really immature in hindsight, but I was really worried this whole inner peace and joy thing she had going was a temporary act and that after things got really serious (like after marriage), she would show me her true colors. I ended up testing it by pushing her buttons one day, poking and prodding at her with a barrage of things designed to upset.

She finally got so irritated and snapped and I was kind of relieved like, "Okay, so she is human!" Yet it was also amazing how much I had to push her buttons repeatedly until she did. Her patience and inner peace is very close to superhuman level.

We've also never fought once in almost 17 years of being together and 14 years of marriage. A lot of people also tend to be suspicious of that but it's because my wife's near superhuman ability to stay calm and think clearly. I'm actually way more immature between the two of us. I study and practice Stoic philosophy all the time but I'm like level 20, maybe, and she's level 99.

It would depend on how they treated me other wise , if they were still loving to me and treating me good , then I do t see any problem with it , but if they were acting distant and not really giving me intimacy and affection then I would probably be curious as to why and think they possibly don’t really love me like they claim

If it's "not at all"... maybe yes. It's basic, even in animals can have this feeling. I had this question why nature implemented jealousy in us, f/m. And it is because we don't want to lose what we have. Anyways, it's more about how a person copes with it. Will they try to communicate what's on their mind with their partner when they are jealous?

On the other hand, if someone seems indifferent maybe they are prone to be a thinker by evaluating their feelings, possibilities of outcomes if they just vent out. I've observed a number of couples. It's annoying to witness jealous people who are too insecure and can't trust their lovers. Mutual love is not easy.

I don’t think being uncomfortable with your significant other hugging an ex is a sign of envy or jealousy though. I think it’s just kind of disrespectful.

Current boyfriend is jealous AF though so maybe I’m just thinking what would be nice for me. It would be great if he didn’t get jealous but having insecurities is normal.

There are very few scenarios in which I'd get jealous. But if my partner is immature enough to desire jealousy in me, then they're not a good fit for me. And it goes both ways. I would never want my partner to feel jealous or give them any reason to be. I'm a very communicative guy so I'd prevent any of that from happening in the first place.

So no I don't take it as a red flag if my partner never feels any jealousy. For me, it just means I'm a good partner.

I think it would bother me a little bit. I hate possessiveness and lots of jealousy, but I think that if my partner didn’t feel any jealousy at all, especially in situations that you would expect it, I would wonder if he was still interested in me or if he’s become detached from me.

I feel like it goes both ways. But I feel like it’s good if they are jealous means they like you. I don't know maybe either they trust that nothing will happen if they aren’t jealous or maybe don’t like the person enough. It’s overall a tough thing.

No I trust people, they know I trust them, if they break that trust they become single, that works both ways and I do not get jealous, I might get a bit concerned at times but not jealous.
