Got asked out then ghosted?

So I 28F matched with this guy 30M on hinge, he seemed decent, good looking and both of us have similar jobs (data scientists). After like 2 msges, he asked me out for the very next day. It was kinda out the blue but I agreed- and guess what, he ghosted me.

He then reached out a week later and asked me to have dinner with him that same night! I was confused and searched him up to find that he was a super shy (kinda nerdy) dude. I also noticed that he changed his hinge profile to match my interests so I agreed to meet him that night. Guess what, he ghosted me again 😕. Like why ask someone out a few hours before a date and ghost them immediately after?

Ignore him. This is why I don’t do online dating. People who ghost someone are just cowards and can’t be honest about things. If he had a change of plans or whatever then he could tell you that. Tell him if he’s going to be a coward and ghost you. That you aren’t interested in talking anymore and to just leave you alone.

You have him two chances and he did the same thing. Just assume this is the way he is and don’t waste time on him. I know some people say stupid shit like “oh someone doesn’t owe you a exclamation of why they blocked you” yeah maybe not but I can think lesser of them as a person.

He matched with someone else and it didn’t work out. Fell back to you and the cycled repeated. Changing his profile also sounds manipulative to me.
There’s like a 3% chance he’s just super shy and reserved, but the only guys who ghost on dates repeatedly are guys who have no issues getting a date at the drop of a hat.

Right after asking me out, he started changing his profile (but he changed it according to my interests). I then said yes to him and right after I said yes, he stopped changing his profile.
He also stopped replying to me. He's also someone who's super awkward around women.

So usually when a guy asks me out online, I do a background check to make sure they're 'real' and not a creep. Turns out my close friend was a mutual friends and she told me he was super awkward around women, was raised in a religious family and hadn't had a girlfriend before

Yeah so when I said yes I asked "where should we meet?"

And then no answer? If that happened for the second time in a row I would just move on from that guy and forget about it.

Yeah, then no answer. Like if someone lost interest after scheduling a date a week away, I get it. But why would someone even arrange a date in a few hours, and then give no reply. It seems alittle weird

Something off with this guy. Don't lose your time trying to figure him out he doesn't deserve another chance after doing it twice that's pretty clear. Just move on.

Well... I don't know if the same reasons apply as when women do this kind of thing to men, but I assume they probably do.

When a woman does that kind of thing to men, it's because she's either looking for attention and finds the ghosting funny, or because she's an emotional trainwreck and gets cold feet when she starts freaking out about actually meeting in person.
