If a 23-year-old man is interested in a 17-year-old girl, what could be the reason? (age of majority is 18 in the country I live in)?

Also, in this country, high school is 4 years long and the girl is in her 3rd year. So the girl is in 11th grade. The man will graduate from university this semester. He is a very successful person in his academic life. He is very social and has a very wide circle. Why is he interested in a 17 year old girl?

He is interested in her because he is attracted to her , Age doesn’t really define the chemistry and connection and attraction you have towards someone , so if he really likes this 17 year old , he should be wise and wait until she is 18 to have any sexual relations with her , or make sure her parents’ are ok with the fact that she is dating him , because she is still considered a minor and under legal age of consent , so if he is smart he would do those things before possibly setting himself up for disaster. When I was 18 dated a 16 year old girl that had the hits for me and I had the hots for her , the fact that she wasn’t legal age of consent had me worried. The only problem is the arbitrary age of consent law where they live. In some U. S. states, the age of consent is as low as 16.

When I was 16 1/2, my first girlfriend wasn't quite 15 yet. And she's the one who hit on me.
I knew girls in 7th and 8th grade who had boyfriends in high school.

Once a girl is beyond puberty, she's a woman. And it's entirely possible for a 17 year old to be mature enough to make her own romantic choices.

I think this girl is better off being with a 23 year old who has his shit together than with a kid her own age. High school boys are idiots.

That age gap is not even that big a deal. And in many countries, the age of consent is lower than 17. What our ancestors have been doing for millennia is now considered immoral by this one generation.

The older you get in age the less it matters. If they stick together in some years the girl could be 24 and the guy 30 years old.

I dated an 18 year old when I was 28 and there are still bigger gaps. My cousin (female) is married to a guy 15 years older than her. My grandpa and grandma have the same difference. One of my old friends that I no longer talk to has been in a relationship with a guy 15 years older than her too. It's really not that big a deal.

When you're a child, the age differences seem so big and it's hard to change your perception of what is okay for a relationship dynamic.
